Yes, beautiful — and thank you to hiddenart for the link (I had not heard this hymn before). The next stanza struck me with our Lord’s glory and all that we are promised as His children…
There, there, on eagles’ wings we soar,And time and sense seem all no more; And heaven comes down, our souls to greet,And glory crowns the mercy seat.
Another beautiful quote! I just tucked my youngest into bed, and was singing “I Heard the Bells on Christmas Day” with her…humming the tune as I read your blog. This song also fits the words to your lovely hymn!
ENJOYED your post yesterday on thanksgivings, too. You always remind me of the many blessings I have to count in my life,..your friendship being among my very most special ones! 🙂 ILY! Lisa V.
I’m going to use that in some of my homemade Christmas cards. It is perfect~~ a short little jewel. And it means so much to me right now as I’m still a little heart sore over the loss of a dear family member. Thanks!
Oh! This is one of my very favorite hymns. It’s in the blue Trinity Hymnal, and I usually cannot get through singing the whole thing without tearing up.
Beautiful!
Carrie
That’s a verse from a hymn, right? I can hear the tune, but I will have to look it up.
Is this what y’all sing?

I like it very much.
Yes’m. I’m surprised that you know this. I only sung it as a child and haven’t heard it sung for quite some time.
