A Pair of Shoes (1885) Vincent van Gogh
A Pair of Shoes II, (1886-7) Vincent van Gogh
This week I threw away three pairs of shoes.
It was hard.
They had been my friends.
It was hard.
They had been my friends.
I think van Gogh would have understood.
These are exquisite. Van Gogh is growing on me. Initially, as in years ago, I was put off by some of his wild and crazy-appearing paintings, but now I am more understanding of his creativity. Years ago, DH and I saw Leonard Nimoy in Vincent. So poignant! Here’s a link to my Van Gogh FAFhttp://hiddenart.xanga.com/650302708/fine-art-fridayvan-gogh/
Oh, you poor dear. You really ARE mourning the loss of those shoes, aren’t you?
Oh, I do love this post! Thanks for showing me these otherwise unknown (to me)paintings. There is another wonderful old shoes collection by the Fries (Dutch) artist, Jopie Huisman (collection published by Rutger Kopland) that you might really like.Mary-http://dichossuaves.blogspot.com/
