Hello? Spring?

The first day of spring is one thing,
and the first spring day is another.
The difference between them
is sometimes as great as a month.
~ Henry Van Dyke

Snow on the car this morning.
Snow flurries this afternoon.
Daffs are still smiling, though!
I think of them as batteries storing sunshine.

*Addendum: At prayer last night,
a ten year old girl prayed,
“Lord, please make it stop snowing,
because it is the end of April.”

Neighbors are scraping
snow off their windshields
on the first day of May!

  1. Isn’t it something how the weather defies understanding at times? It’s still quite blustery here, and especially up on my campus which is high on a hill–but thankfully, no snow

  2. I’m excited about walking and seeing new growth and bright flowers around town, Dana.I think our body clocks have pretty much reset themselves.  We get tired at night but “tired at night” is pretty normal!  As for normal, didn’t someone say that is a setting on the dryer?  (grin)  The next big thing is a trip to Pullman for Carson’s graduation this weekend.   Thanks for asking, Carrie.

  3. I think a daff with its little head drooping in the snow the saddest sight to see. But still she lifts her little head in anticipation of tomorrows warmth.  I love the little girls prayer of explanation to the Lord. Thanks again friend. Glad you are back.

  4. We went to the M’s going away party today.  We’re so sad they are leaving, but we see excitement in their eyes as they head to Oregon.  You’ll have to post pictures of them all every now and then, kay? Sherry
