This is our God

And the Lord of hosts

will prepare a lavish banquet
for all peoples on this mountain;

A banquet of aged wine,
choice pieces of marrow,
and refined, aged wine.

And on this mountain
He will swallow up the covering
which is over all peoples,
Even the veil which is stretched over all nations.

He will swallow up death for all time,
And the Lord God will wipe tears
away from all faces,

And He will remove
the reproach of His people

from all the earth;
For the Lord has spoken.

And it will be said in that day,
Behold, this is our God
for whom we have waited
that He might save us.

  1. Such comforting verses….and yes, on this particular Sunday, I do find myself thinking of those dear departed ones….and meeting them again.

  2. This is very comforting on so many different levels, to me.  This past Easter week, I heard the same song twice with a phrase that keeps repeating itself in my mind for some reason – “He gives the healing and grace our hearts always hunger for.”  I just find it so interesting that the words “healing” and “grace” are put together like this!  It means several different things to me, all good.  Thanks for this poem (?) – hymn (?).

  3. I’m sure the title of the blog goes with the verses and not the picture, right?  It’s just that the picture comes up so much faster than the verses on my computer, right?
